ADVERBS THAT END WITH “MENTE”
Last lesson you learned how adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. The adverbs presented helped to tell how, when, where, or how intensely something was done. This lesson will present other adverbs, all of which end with “-mente.” This ending is equivalent to the “-ly” ending in English (e.g., quickly, patiently, stubbornly, etc.).
Here is a simple formula for transforming most adjectives into adverbs:

Take the feminine form of an adjective and add “-mente”:
As adjectives that end in a vowel other than “o” or “a” are already both feminine and masculine, there is no need to change them.
Adjectives that end in a consonant generally are both masculine and feminine; there is no need to change them.
